Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Panathinaikos Tips & Live Stream - Maccabi ready to challenge the defending champions in Euroleague

As the EuroLeague regular season nears its end, Maccabi Tel Aviv are playing their best basketball of the campaign.

While their playoff hopes have long been extinguished, credit must be given for their relentless effort to salvage a disappointing season. Four consecutive wins prove that Oded Katash is getting the most out of a limited roster, even with several key players sidelined.

Following victories over Fenerbahce, ASVEL, and Monaco, Maccabi took down Virtus Bologna 77-67 in their latest outing. 

With Jalen Hoard and Jasiel Rivero unavailable, former Barcelona guard Rokas Jokubaitis stepped up, delivering 19 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds. Newcomer Jimmy Clark also impressed, adding 14 points.

However, Maccabi’s depth will be further tested in their upcoming clash, as they will once again be without Hoard and Rivero, while Mario Shayok is also set to miss out after picking up an injury in domestic competition.

Panathinaikos Form & Team News

With just four rounds remaining in the EuroLeague regular season, Panathinaikos remain firmly in third place with a 19-11 record.

Fenerbahce’s recent slip-up has opened the door for them to push for second place, but that likely won’t be their main priority. Last week, PAO bounced back from a painful defeat to their arch-rivals, though they struggled more than expected against EuroLeague’s bottom team, Alba, eventually securing a 91-81 win.

With less than six minutes left, the visitors held an eight-point lead, putting PAO in real danger. However, the reigning Greek champions once again showed their ability to shift gears when needed. 

Jerian Grant stood out with his trademark aggressive defense while also delivering offensively with 19 points. Kendrick Nunn added 18, while Lorenzo Brown and Wenyen Gabriel chipped in with 13 each.

Cedi Osman, unfortunately, suffered an ankle injury just four minutes into the game, adding to Panathinaikos’ growing list of absentees, which already includes Mathias Lessort, Marius Grigonis, Omer Yurtseven, and Ioannis Papapetrou.
