How To Calculate an Acca odds

While some people have been betting for years and years, if you were to ask them how to work out the odds of an acca, they would have no idea where to start. Learning how to work out acca odds is one of the best ways to learn how to bet.

Below, we have provided a short and simple way to work out your acca odds when you come to betting. It is also worth noting that your bookmaker will calculate the odds of your acca for you if you add the picks to your betslip and confirm they are part of an acca rather than a series of single bets.

    • Selection 1 – Manchester United Win – 3.00 (Odds) - $10 (Odds Stake) - $30 (Total Return)
    • Selection 2 – Chelsea Win – 2.50 - $30 - $75
    • Selection 3 – Arsenal Win – 2.00 - $75 - $150
    • Selection 4 – Manchester City Win – 1.50 - $150 - $225
    • Acca Bet - $225

The returns from the four singles that help to make up our acca can be shown as follows:

    • Total returns = Initial stake x (Team 1 odds x Team 2 odds x Team 3 odds x Team 4 odds)
    • = 10 x (3x2.5x2x1.5)
    • =$225

    • Total profit = Total returns – Initial stake
    • = $225 - $10
    • =$215

You can use the above method to work out the potential return of your own acca. However, as this can be a little confusing and a small mistake can see the odds shift massively, we recommend using your bookmaker to calculate the odds, or you can use an odds calculator online to work out what your potential return is.

    What is a double bet?

A double bet will see you adding two separate bets together to achieve higher odds. Like an acca, you must correctly predict the outcome of both events for your bet to be a winner. If one bet is a winner and the other is a loser, your bet will lose.

It is important to note that a double bet requires you to bet on two different events. For example, if you bet on Real Madrid to win against Atletico Madrid and Barcelona to beat Girona, then you can wrap this into a double bet.

    What is a treble bet?

Much like a double bet, a treble bet requires you to correctly predict multiple different bets, this time, you will need to nail three different bets.

Instead of placing three single bets, you will place all three bets as part of one treble bet. The odds for this treble bet will be longer than if you were to bet on each of the three individually. This is because whereas if you bet on three singles and two win, you would get a return on those two winning bets and not the third. In a treble bet, if you win one or two of the three bets, then you will lose as all of your bets must come in.

Be aware of the fact that a treble bet must be on three different sporting events. If you were to bet on Manchester City to win the league, Arsenal to finish second and Liverpool to finish in third, this would be a tricast bet.
