Now, DC will want to build on their sixth-placed finish. The home side have won their last four on their own patch, while their last home game ended in a 19-run win over their next opponents in their final match of 2024.

With a sketchy run of form on the road in which they have lost their last two, DC have to find a way to ensure their form at home is spotless. Against LSG, they will be confident they can notch a third successive win.

Their 18-run win over Mumbai Indians in their final game could have secured them a place in the top-four, but their run of three defeats cost them. Two of these three defeats came on the road, and I predict that LSG will start the season with a loss away from home.
