Bundesliga Winner Odds - Can Bayern Munich snatch the Bundesliga title back from Bayer Leverkusen?

With the new season here, Bayern Munich are the favourites to secure the trophy at 1.50, but are they the side to back following their torrid 2023/24 campaign? 

Despite arriving as the favourites to win the title this season, Bayern Munich had to endure a hugely disappointing 2023/24 season. 

Bayern are 1.50, but they were humiliated by a Bayer Leverkusen (3.40) side that avoided defeat across their entire league campaign, winning 28 times and drawing six matches. They finished at the summit, 18 clear of Bayern in third. 

Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are also in contention to lift the trophy, but neither excelled last season. Indeed, Bayern were awful last year and still finished seven points above Leipzig and nine clear of Dortmund. It shows that even with Bayern enduring a torrid season, they were still better than the duo. 

The first two weeks has seen Bayern and Leipzig win their openers, Dortmund have won once and drawn once, while Leverkusen have won once and drawn once. 

The interesting prospect this season will be whether Leverkusen can build on their stunning campaign last time out. Xabi Alonso masterminded a stunning run to title success in the Bundesliga, while he was also able to guide Leverkusen to the Europa League final. 

This term, new manager Vincent Kompany will hope he can guide Bayern back towards the top of the standings, although the pressure on his shoulders will be massive as the fans have already seen their side struggle enough.

While the side will likely give their new manager time as he looks to take the squad forward, if results do not start off well, then things could turn ugly quickly. Worrying for Kompany is that his Burnley side was relegated from the Premier League last season, meaning Bayern choosing him is a real gamble.
