- Nottingham Forest Form
- Manchester City Form
Manchester City's last league game ended in a 1-0 win over Tottenham as Pep Guardiola's side secured a vital win in the Premier League.
- Forest are unbeaten in their last nine home games in all competitions (W7, D2)
- City have lost two of their last four games in all competitions
- City have conceded 20 goals on the road this season
Head To Head
City have won seven of their last 10 against Forest, with the latter winning once and two games ending as draws.
Nottingham Forest Form
Nottingham Forest have been outstanding this season, and they arrive for their 28th match of the campaign sitting a point and a place above Manchester City in the table. While City have been poor by their own standards, nothing can be taken away from an exceptional campaign from Forest.
Forest have struggled against City in the past, but this is one of their best opportunities to get one over on an opponent they have lost their last three games against, last beating them back in 2009.
Forest have won seven of their 13 at home, losing twice. Their last home game saw them hold Arsenal in a 0-0 draw, while they have also hammered Brighton 7-0 and drawn 1-1 with Liverpool. An outright win may still be fanciful against City, so I am backing Forest/Draw in the double chance market, with the home side looking to stun another top-four rival.
Manchester City Form
Manchester City have failed to hit the heights of previous seasons, with the reigning champions now 20 points short of Liverpool at the top of the table.
The FA Cup is now the only piece of silverware they can secure this season, while a top-four spot is also on the cards. A win in this one would see City move two points clear of Forest with 10 games to go, while they could move further clear of Chelsea, Newcastle and Bournemouth, who have all been inconsistent of late.
The real worry for City right now is their away form. They have won six of their 14 away from home, scoring 25 goals and conceding 20 times. Defensively, City have not been at the races this year, while they have struggled to apply pressure in midfield. I predict that both sides will score in this one, with Forest's pressing game giving City all kings of issues.
Verdict
I am backing both sides to score in this one, while I predict that Forest will secure some form of points in the match as they notch yet another massive result.
