The Premier League boasts some of the best attacking talent in the world, with players trying to test themselves in the most competitive domestic league in football.

With the new season here, Erling Haaland of Manchester City is the big favourite to top score once again at 1.33, but is the City forward the player to back?

Erling Haaland has been too good in recent seasons, with the Manchester City striker tearing defences apart all too often. This has seen Haaland priced at 1.33, meaning he is some way clear of the rest of the field.

Mohamed Salah of Liverpool is next in line at 5.50, with Cole Palmer (15.00) and Nicholas Jackson (17.00) coming next. The likes of Ollie Watkins, Chris Wood and Bryan Mbeumo follow.

After the first 12 rounds, Haaland leads the way with 12 goals. Mohamed Salah is now on 10 goals, while Bryan Mbeumo and Chris Wood both have eight goals.

The odds suggest that the rest of the field will need something big to happen in order for this to become more of a fair race. Haaland plays for the best team and is clinical in front of goal, making him the smart choice.

Meanwhile, Salah is leading the line for a team under new management, Palmer is starring for Chelsea and there have been a number of players currently in good goal-scoring form.

There is so much attacking talent in the league that it would be foolish to completely discount a player like Salah or Palmer. However, starting quickly is imperative, especially if it means they can move clear of Haaland in the goal scoring charts.

Of course, the odds will likely shift a lot if Haaland is unable to get on the scoresheet in his first few outings or if he picks up an injury. While anything could happen this season, the award looks to be Haaland's to lose.

Which player do you think will top score in the Premier League this season? Can Haaland top score once again, or will another player net the most goals?
