PSV will have to secure the greatest Champions League comeback of all time if they are to eliminate Arsenal, with the travelling side all but out of the competition heading into the return leg in London.

  • Arsenal have won their last five European matches
  • The Gunners have conceded in their last two European games
  • PSV have lost two of their last three Champions League matches
  • The travelling side have seen both teams score in their last five in Europe

Head To Head

Arsenal have won five of their last 10 against PSV, with the latter winning twice and the other three ending as draws.

Arsenal Form

Arsenal went into their clash with PSV having failed to score in three of their previous four, with almost all predicting a low-scoring match in which the English side struggled to break their hosts down.

In reality, Arsenal put in one of the performances of the season so far as they humiliated their opponents in a 7-1 win that has seen the English side all but secure their place in the quarter-finals. Now, the focus will be on building on their win and securing victory in both legs of the tie.

Of late, the Gunners have not been great defensively in Europe, conceding in their last two matches. While I back them to win this game, I do not see them keeping a clean sheet.

PSV Form

PSV were incredibly disappointing in their first-leg against Arsenal as they were completely outplayed by their opponents in a lesson in football.

While there would have been hope for PSV if they had come into the tie 3-1 down, with this the score at half-time, few will back them to even win the second-leg, let alone beat the Gunners by seven goals.

While I back the travelling side to score, I predict that they will be knocked out of the competition, with their humiliation in the first-leg capped off by defeat in the second-leg.

Verdict

I am backing both sides to score in this one as Arsenal build on their 7-1 win with another victory in London.
