The Champions League is already into the quarter-final stage of the competition, with the best sides in Europe edging closer to the biggest event in club football.
Real Madrid won the trophy in the 2023/24 season and arrive at 4.50 with bet365, but are they the side to back this year?
Champions League Winner | Odds |
---|---|
Barcelona | 4.00 |
PSG | 4.33 |
Real Madrid | 4.50 |
Bayern Munich | 6.00 |
Arsenal | 8.00 |
Inter Milan | 11.00 |
Aston Villa | 29.00 |
Borussia Dortmund | 41.00 |
Real Madrid secured yet another Champions League crown in 2024 as they beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley. The Spanish side are one of the favourites at 4.50 with bet365 to defend their title in 2025.
Real managed to eliminate arch-rivals Atletico Madrid on penalties after their tie ended 2-2 on aggregate. Despite dispensing of their opponents, Real are not the favourites, with fellow La Liga side Barcelona sitting at the head of the betting at 4.00.
Barca eliminated Benfica 4-1 on aggregate in their Round of 16 match to move another step closer to glory.
The big mover in the betting is French side PSG. PSG are 4.33 to secure the trophy after knocking former-favourites Liverpool out on penalties. In a tie in which PSG dominated the first-leg and Liverpool were better in the second-leg, both sides lost at home before PSG went through on penalties.
Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Inter Milan make up the other sides that are seen as potential favourites, but the trio will have to do something special to eliminate the top-three sides.
Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund are the outsiders in the betting, but few sides will want to take on the pair. Both are exceptionally strong on their day, and without the tag of favourites around their necks, they are fully capable of taking a big scalp.
The Champions League always throws up a number of shocking results and inspiring runs, with Borussia Dortmund's battle an example from last season. The German side were not fancied at the start of the campaign, but they continually proved they had what it takes as they made it to the showpiece event.
This season, there will be a range of teams looking to follow Dortmund's example, but getting to the final is one thing, while winning it is another. The likes of Barcelona and Real will be incredibly tough to defeat at any point in the campaign, while they both take it up a notch in the grand final.
The likes of Arsenal, Inter and Bayern will hope to fly slightly under the radar due to PSG, Barcelona and Real being such big favourites. However, once a team makes it to the knockout stages, the eyes start to switch to them.
Which side do you think will win the 2024/25 Champions League title? Can Real defend their crown, or will another side lift the most famous club trophy in the game?
