The 2025 Australian Open will be the first Grand Slam event of the new calendar year, with Melbourne Park hosting the competition.
Jannik Sinner is the reigning champion on the men's side and is priced at 3.00, but is he the favourite to secure the trophy once again?
2025 Australian Open Winner | Odds |
---|---|
Jannik Sinner | 3.00 |
Carlos Alcaraz | 3.25 |
Novak Djokovic | 4.00 |
Daniil Medvedev | 8.50 |
Alexander Zverev | 10.00 |
Jack Draper | 23.00 |
Taylor Fritz | 29.00 |
Rest of the field | 34.00+ |
Jannik Sinner is the reigning champion heading into the competition in 2025, and he can be backed at 3.00 to secure another crown in Australia. This comes after he eliminated Daniil Medvedev in a stunning 3-2 win in 2024.
Despite arriving as the champion, Sinner is not likely to have everything his own way. Carlos Alcaraz is right behind Sinner at 3.25, with Novak Djokovic available at 4.00. The three are someway clear in the betting, with this one seemingly a three-horse race.
Further out in the betting, you can back last year's beaten finalist Medvedev at 8.50, with the likes of Alexander Zverev and Jack Draper next in line.
Despite boasting a lot of exceptional talent, the men's side of the game has seen Djokovic, Alcaraz and Sinner dominate. Indeed, Djokovic and Alcaraz have traded blows in the finals of many of the most recent tournaments, with Alcaraz beating Djokovic in the final at Wimbledon before the roles were reversed in the Olympic gold medal final.
While anything can happen in a five-set Grand Slam match, it seems more unlikely that a player away from the top-three will be able to secure a trophy.
The first Slam of the year always sees players arriving looking slightly more rusty than they do at other competitions after some much-needed time off. Despite this, players are still banking on an uncharacteristically bad outing for one of the top-three if they are to be eliminated.
Who do you think will win the 2025 Australian Open? Can Sinner defend his crown, or will another player secure the first Slam of the new year?
