The 2025 Australian Open will see the top professional tennis players in the women's game come together to fight for the first Grand Slam trophy of the new year.
Ahead of the tournament in January 2025, Aryna Sabalenka is the favourite to lift the trophy at 3.50 with bet365, but is she the player to back to triumph once again?
2025 Women's Australian Open Winner | Odds |
---|---|
Aryna Sabalenka | 3.50 |
Iga Swiatek | 4.50 |
Coco Gauff | 5.50 |
Elena Rybakina | 9.00 |
Qinwen Zheng | 10.00 |
Naomi Osaka | 17.00 |
Rest of the field | 17.00+ |
Aryna Sabalenka was not going to be stopped in 2024 as she romped to success in the first Slam of the new year. She is currently the favourite to scoop the trophy once again at 3.50, but she is barely ahead of the rest of the field in what will likely be an incredibly tight battle.
Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff are right behind Sabalenka, with Elena Rybakina, Naomi Osaka, Mirra Andreeva and Qinwen Zhen next up.
2025's iteration of the competition is already shaping up to be the best one yet. While Sabalenka is the current favourite, she is hardly overwhelmingly favoured.
In 2024, Sabalenka was able to secure the title on the back of a stunning 6-3 6-2 win over Qinwen Zheng. The ease at which she secured the trophy in the final showed just how much better than everyone else she was at the tournament.
However, a player on the women's side dominating the field has not been the norm like it has on the men's side with Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz. This means that while Sabalenka will have aspirations and the skill to win another Australian Open title, anything could happen.
Qinwen Zheng will be a player that will fancy her chances of making it to another final and potentially securing the silverware. Zheng was beaten in the 2024 final by Sabalenka but looked exceptionally good in the build-up to the final.
Who do you think will win the 2024 women's Australian Open? Can Sabalenka defend her crown, or will another player secure the glory?
