Jannik Sinner eased to a win in four against Daniil Medvedev as the former moved to within a single win of the US Open final.

Jack Draper stunned Alex de Minaur in a brilliant straight-sets win as he set up this crunch match with Sinner.

The pair have met once before, with Draper winning in two sets in London back in 2021.

Jannik Sinner has gone from strength to strength at the 2024 US Open, with the Italian yet to be taken to five sets at the competition.

His 6-2 1-6 6-1 6-4 win over Daniil Medvedev in the quarter-finals was his most impressive performance to date, with Sinner swatting his opponent aside despite losing the second set. A match in which a player loses the second set will usually see them struggle to get back into the clash, but Sinner proved his skill as he hammered his opponent.

While I predict that Sinner will win the match, I am not backing him to have it all his own way as he is taken to a deciding set by his opponent.

Jack Draper Form

Jack Draper has been excellent at the US Open, with a run to the semi-finals no less than the 22-year-old deserves.

His straight-sets win over Alex de Minaur in the quarter-final may have been surprisingly straightforward, but it mirrored similar wins in three in the second, third and fourth rounds. Draper has been tearing opponents apart of late with some sublime tennis.

Draper's emergence as one of the top talents in the game will likely see him playing in his fair share of Grand Slam finals, but I am not backing him to make it to one this week. Sinner is in sublime form, and while I back Draper to push his opponent, I believe it will still end in defeat.
