Taylor Fritz needed all five sets to eventually see-off the challenge of Frances Tiafoe is the semi-final.

The pair have met twice before, with both winning one match each. The last meeting between the two saw Sinner secure a 2-1 win back in 2023.

Jannik Sinner Form

Jannik Sinner has been in scintillating form at the US Open, dropping two sets across his six matches.

His 3-0 win over Jack Draper in the semi-finals was one of the performances of the competition so far, with Sinner's astounding victory coming against a player in fine form. Ultimately, Sinner was able to show just how well he is playing with a display of the utmost quality.

While Sinner has only won one Grand Slam crown, the 23-year-old will know that this is a massive chance to secure his second. Fritz himself is yet to win a Slam, and I predict that he will once again miss out on a major trophy as Sinner is crowned the champion.

Taylor Fritz Form

Taylor Fritz has also excelled at the US Open, eliminating a string of top-quality opposition on the way to the final.

Fritz eliminated Alexander Zverev 3-1 in the quarter-final before then coming back from 2-1 down to beat Frances Tiafoe. His win over Tiafoe was his 43rd win in 59 outings, with Fritz impressing on the court.

While I do back Fritz to secure a set in this one, I am not backing him to win in the final. Sinner has been in exceptional form, and I am predicting that he will secure his second Grand Slam crown.
