The pair have only met once before, with Pegula winning in three sets in Cincinnati back in August. 

Jessica Pegula has played 10 sets and won 10 sets at the 2024 US Open in a stunning run of form. 

Pegula saved her best performance so far for the quarter-finals as she humiliated Iga Swiatek 6-2 6-4 in the best performance at the competition in 2024. This was her 35th win in 46 this year, and it sees her arrive for the semi-finals in fantastic form. 

While Pegula has her work cut out for her in an outing that sees two well-matched players come together, I am backing Pegula to secure the win as she moves into the US Open final. 

Karolina Muchova has only played 16 matches this year, and yet she finds herself in the US Open semi-finals after a brilliant run of wins. 

Like Pegula, Muchova has managed to notch five wins in straight-sets, with two exceptional victories over Naomi Osaka in the second round and Jasmine Paolini in the fourth round saw Muchova flex her impressive skills on the court. 

While I have been impressed by Muchova at the final Slam of the year, I am backing her to lose a set for the first time as she is knocked out in the semi-finals.
